For over 60 years MacKissic has been manufacturing tough, durable products for the lawn & garden industry. From its humble beginnings in 1947, manufacturing farm implements, MacKissic has gradually grown into one of the more respected manufacturers in the industry.
The first product to feature the Mighty Mac® logo was the leaf shredder, which pioneered the use of the hammer mill. MacKissic added powered sprayers to the line in 1966 and continued to add products to its varied assortment. In 1991 MacKissic purchased the Merry Tiller® Company which had been producing the finest mid-tine® tillers available, also since 1947. This addition opened up new lines of distribution for MacKissic and grew its presence in the rental industry where the Merry Tiller® held a legendary reputation for strength and durability.
Once established in the rental industry MacKissic continued to expand its product assortment with a new focus on heavier duty commercial-type products that would work well for rental and commercial customers. In the fall of 2000 MacKissic acquired the Johnson Big Wheel® Mower Company of Ridgeland, Mississippi. The Johnson Big Wheel® Mower fit nicely with the existing product assortment as it had the reputation of being the best mower available.
In November 2001 MacKissic announced their acquisition of the Easy Auger® product line manufactured by E-Z Industries, Inc. of Alexandria, MN. The Easy Auger® was the first auger of this design type and was originally introduced in 1991; in 1996 the first self-propelled model was developed. In 1998, Easy Auger was awarded one of the "Most Significant Products" by Equipment World Magazine. Since then new features have been added to make for an even better one-person Post Hole Digger.
Today from it’s original, expanded manufacturing plant in Parker Ford, PA. MacKissic manufactures over 40 products with the same Pennsylvania Dutch craftsmanship that has enabled it to grow steadily in a challenging industry. The MacKissic product line today consists of leaf shredders & chippers, the Rolleez line of walk-behind leaf blowers, vacuum-chipper-baggers, powered sprayers, stump cutters, Merry Mid-tine® & Rear tine tillers, and the Easy Auger®.
