     REAR TINE

The Merry Rear-Tine Tiller offers a unique combination of strength, durability and ease of use.  It features counter balance weighting to focus all the weight directly on the drive wheels, for outstanding control in tough soil conditions.

The wheels control the motion not the tines. Separate drive transmissions for the wheels and the tines with simple, easy to use engagement levers, two tilling speeds with reverse and transport, and heavy duty Bolo Tines for the right mix of digging and cultivating.  Powered by a Briggs and Stratton 13.5 gross torque OHV IC, 9 hp Robin, or an 8 hp Honda engine.

  • Controls: Handle mounted throttle & idler engagement. Easy to use tine engage lever and shift lever with tine blockout for reverse. No gears or clutches to mesh or engage.
  • Tines: Heavy-duty bolo tine with 21” tilling width – forward rotating.
  • Drive system:  Double belt drive with proven Merry Tiller idler system. Separate drive transmissions for the wheels & the tines provide great control and stability. Wheel drive transmission has self-adjusting drive chain tensioner. Tine transmission is triple gear reduction chain drive factory lubricated with “00” grease for extended like. 12ga case halves with grease-able flange bearings at input shaft. Ground & polished 1 ¼” carbon steel tine shaft.
  • Frame: 2”x 2” x ¼ “ steel angle frame rails with 10 gauge steel housing
  • Handles: 1” steel tubing with cross brace. 3 different operating positions
  • Guarding: Fully enclosed belt guard, steel front bumper also provides counter balance to focus all weight on wheels. Easily removable front bottom housing provides easy access for service.
  • Dimensions: Main body:  50” L x 22” Wx34”H. Overall length 66” with handles. Handle height 43” at middle position.
